Microchipping
Collars and tags are useful but all too frequently dogs and cats go missing with their identification lost. These pets are then harder to reunite with their families.
Microchipping or Identichipping is a permanent answer giving y ou peace of mind. A tiny microchip with a unique code can be injected under the skin of your pet. When performed in a careful professional manner, this procedure is quick and painless.
If your pet is lost and picked up, a special scanner can detect and read the code. These scanners are routinely used by veterinary surgeries, dog wardens, RSPCA, rescue kennels/catteries and welfare societies all over the country.
All pets of any age, breed or species can be microchipped, from cats and dogs to budgies and tortoises.
Microchipping also allows identification for travelling purposes, please see the section below.
